AEC Programs

AEC (Attestation d’études collégiales) programs are designed to provide adults with the training they need for today's job market. These are short programs with the aim of putting you in the workforce in 9 months to a year and a half, or so. Speak to counselors for more precise information.

Application Deadlines

Application deadlines for AEC programs vary and are indicated in each program application. Please contact the AEC Program office (514 931-8731 ext. 3210) if you want to apply to an AEC program. Applications are accepted after the deadlines, but are only considered if there is space in the program.


AEC Admission Requirements

Ministerial Requirements

A person who has received instruction considered sufficient by the college and meets one of the following conditions may be admitted to a program of studies leading to an attestation d’études collégiales:

  1. the person's studies have been interrupted for at least two consecutive terms or one school year
  2. the person is covered by an agreement entered into between the college and an employer or by a government program of studies
  3. the person has pursued postsecondary studies for at least one year

College Requirements

The college considers sufficient instruction to be one of the following:

             a) Québec Secondary School Diploma (DES) or equivalent

             b) Québec Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) or equivalent

             c) A combination of experience and/or training deemed appropriate
                for the program. 

  1. English language skills equivalent to placement at Preparation for college English or higher. Applicant's may be required to take an English placement exam.
  2. A letter of intent explaining the applicant's reasons for seeking admission to the program and demonstrating his or her interest in developing a career in the field.
  3. An interview may be required to assess the applicant'd ability, motivation and communication skills.
  4. Some (AEC) programs may require applicants to submit a portfolio.

New students in AEC programs will be informed directly of the date of their Orientation, which will vary according to each program’s starting date.
