Program Description
The 3D Animator is responsible for the action in video games. He or she works with level designers, modelers and riggers to move the characters and objects through the level space of a game. The animator must be aware of the characters’ moods, motivations, and thought processes and be able to communicate these to the players through movement. Motion capture is playing a more important role in the gaming industry, breeding a sub-specialty of animation. The animator is responsible for tweaking and enhancing captured motion in order to make it look realistic and natural.
