Communications Office
The Communications Office of Dawson College is linked directly to the Office of the Director General and serves the Dawson community on all matters pertaining to internal and external communications at an institutional level.
The main responsibilities of the Communications Office include management of the College website, the organization of major College-wide events, such as Open House, Convocation and scholarship awards ceremonies, the production of visual displays and the publication of College print materials, such as the Viewbook, program brochures, the Annual Report and the Discover e-Newsletters. It is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the College logo and branding.
The Coordinator of the Communications Office acts as College spokesperson and, in collaboration with senior administration, implements communications strategies for internal and external audiences.
In addition, the Communications Office provides support to the activities and priorities of the Director General, consults with the Academic Dean on communication needs with regard to academic matters, with the Office of Information Systems Technology on concerns related to the web, with the Registrar in support of recruitment activities, and with Awards and Scholarships and the Dawson Foundation in the organization of special events.
The members of the Communications Office also provide support on an ad hoc basis to various departments and units in the College in the achievement of their communication objectives pertaining to specific activities.
