Current ALC Courses

MUSICAL EXPRESSION (INTRO TO SINGING)

You can learn how to develop your vocal production skills, as well as the basics of music theory in this course. No previous musical experience is necessary as you learn the basic techniques of how to sing in a collaborative environment.

MUSICAL INTERPRETATION (POPULAR SINGING)

You will have the opportunity to explore the various vocal styles of contemporary music and to develop your vocal techniques and your own style as a singer. No previous experience is necessary as you will learn how to develop your basic vocal techniques, styles and to learn about the essentials of music theory in this course in a collaborative environment.

MUSICAL EXPRESSION (INTRO TO GUITAR)

You can learn how to play finger style guitar, to read music and to play in ensemble performances in a fun and stimulating atmosphere in this course. No previous musical experience is necessary as you will learn about the basics.

MUSICAL INTERPRETATION (POPULAR GUITAR)

You can learn how to improve your guitar playing and learn to strum your favorite songs in this course. You will learn basic strumming patterns such as blues, rock, reggae, etc., in a comfortable ensemble setting.

You can demystify the different elements of pop guitar playing and prepare yourself to play guitar with your family and friends.

MUSIC HISTORY

Come discover music in all its splendor as it developed through the ages. You will have the chance to encounter the music of the famous composers and to learn how music developed into the art form it is today.

You will learn to be able to differentiate between Bach and Beethoven, Ellington and Basie. Your listening skills will be greatly enhanced through this course.

MUSIC APPRECIATION

Come discover the subtleties of listening to Art music. You will have the opportunity to develop your listening skills and to perceive the various elements of sound that make up Music. You will learn how to fine-tune your ear to decipher the musical differences between the great composers through the ages from Classical to Jazz to Contemporary Music.
