For her fieldwork, she studied parenthood through adoption in Montr?al. Cornelia teaches Introduction to Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, The Anthropology of Parenthood, and Race and Racism. Cornelia is associated with the Child Studies profile. |

| | Member in the department(s): | Ted Irwin has taught physical and environmental geography (Natural Environment, Environmental Problems, Weather and Climate) and social science methods (Quantitative Methods and the Integrative Seminar) at Dawson College since 1991. He has a B.A. from Simon Fraser University and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Ted also teaches business location to Commerce students. For the Department of geography, Ted is responsible for coordinating technological development and Geographic Information Systems.

This Nova Scotian artist has exhibited nationally and internationally since the 1980`s. Johnson`s work in painting frequently explores the intersections between scientific imaging, illustration and abstraction. His next exhibition ?Puits d`Huile?, is planned for Montreal`s McLure Gallery in April of 2008. |

| | Member in the department(s): | Julianna Joos is a full-time teacher at Dawson College in the Fine Arts Department; she has been teaching here since 1998 in Printmaking, Drawing and Computer Art.
Julianna Joos has degrees from Concordia University and from Universit? du Qu?bec ? Montr?al, respectively at the BA and the Masters levels; in 1996 she graduated with a Ma?trise ?s arts (M.A.) Programme de ma?trise en arts plastiques, concentration cr?ation,.
Her professional career started more than thirty years ago; she has had numerous solo exhibitions and has participated in over one hundred group shows around the world.
Her production has evolved from a thirty year printmaking concentration to a multidisciplinary production involving printmaking, computer assisted weaving, digital imaging, and sewing. She is as comfortable in traditional processes as she is in digital technologies. |

| | Member in the department(s): | After studying Graphic Design at Concordia University and l’Université du Québec à Montréal, Luc Parent worked as designer and art director in the magazine publishing field. Later, he worked as a freelance designer for many design offices in Montreal. In 1981, he joined Jean Morin (AGI) designers Ltée and was involved in the development of corporate identities and signage system for large Canadian and Quebec Corporations.
He has been recipient of two design bursaries from the government of Quebec and was invited to be on juries for the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec, le Ministère des Affaires culturelles and for Concours Grafika. In 1986-87, he worked at Total Design in Amsterdam, Netherlands. On his return to Montreal he joined Lavalin Communication and then La Direction des communications de l’Université de Montréal.
From 1988-2000 he operated his own design studio, serving cultural, institutional and corporate clients. In 1990, he began teaching at Dawson College, Collège Athunsic, Collège du Vieux-Montréal and l’École de design de l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Since 1997, Parent has been a permanent teacher at Dawson College and has served several terms as Chairperson of the Graphic Design Department.
His work has been published in several Canadian, American and European publications. He has also been published in l’Affiche au Québec and le Design au Québec by Marc H. Choko. He has won mentions and awards at design competitions and design biennials such as Brno (Czekoslovakia), Warsaw (Poland), Lahti (Finland), the first Poster Triennal in Moscow, the New York Art Directors Club 6th International Exhibition, The Toronto International Type Symposium and Grafika, Quebec. His posters have been shown in group exhibitions in China, Buenos Aires, Brasil and at the Canadian Cultural Center in Paris, France. Some of his posters are in the permanent collection of the Plakatmuseum am Niederrhein, Germany and in the permanent collection of the Dansk Plakatmuseum, (Danish Poster Museum), Danemark. |

| | Member in the department(s): | Graduated, with distinction, from the school of Industrial Design at Carleton University, Ottawa, in June of 1987. Gained extensive experience in plastic product design and transportation design while working as a junior and senior industrial designer at various design studios in Montreal and in France between 1985 and 1991. Founded DIBIS, Inc. in January 1992, a product design and manufacturing company based in Montreal.
Michael has received international design awards and recognition from both the industry and his peers for the quality of his products and design projects. His products have been selected by numerous publications and design exhibitions throughout North America. The Museum of Modern Art in New York City as well as numerous other well know retail shops around the world sell products designed by Michael Santella and manufactured by DIBIS. He is the only three time winner of the prestigious Accent on Design Award at the New York International Gift Fair, given annually for best product design.
Michael has also working as a free lance Industrial Designer and teaching at the University de Montreal. He has been teaching at Dawson College since August 2002. |
