Ryan got his first taste of entrepreneurship when he started a photography business 20 years ago due to his passion for the creative sector. He later transitioned to working in the sales and marketing industry before launching his company Orinje Nation in 2014.
Ryan is the Brand Detective & Founder at Orinje Nation, a brand intelligence and strategy firm. His vision for the company is to connect the dots between the internal culture of businesses with their brand promise. He merges marketing, customer service, sales, HR and operations to help progressive firms develop comprehensive road maps to brand execution.
In addition, he is the Managing Editor of Dazzle Magazine Barbados, a fresh print and online publication attractively highlighting young Barbadian entrepreneurs which started in 2014.
The development of entrepreneurs is something Ryan is very passionate about. He contributes his time as a marketing facilitator attached to the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) where he trains and mentors upcoming entrepreneurs. In addition, he is a member of the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs-Caribbean & Canada. Ryan also sits on a special committee for the Development of a National Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (MSME) policy in Barbados.
Ryan is always eager to help plan any events that involve food and started a group called Restaurant Connoisseurs to gather foodies in themed locations with specially designed menus and fun after parties.
