Django Movie Forum

Course: Web Development III (2nd Year)

Term project for Server-side Web Development, using Python and the Django framework. As this was a new form of web development it did require some adjustments and research to figure out the best course of action. It was very fun to develop with Django and we are proud of the work that came out of it.

AudioWave Generator

Course: Programming III (2nd Year)
Team Members: Aidan Catriel, Nolan Ganz and Vinuyan Suvakolunthu

This project was inspired by early video games, that used mathematical waves with varying frequencies to create iconic soundtracks. The main challenges were learning how to create and interpret audio data, as well as design a robust graphical user interface.

Mandelbrot Set viewer (personal project)

Course: Web Development II (2nd Year)
Team Members: Kyle Veloso
  • Challenge: applying knowledge learned from web dev II (and other programming courses) and integrating with a new topic not learned in class (which is canvas) into a personal project.
  • Challenge: applying an algorithm to render a Mandelbrot set (a set generated with a famous mathematical formula involving complex numbers.

North American Tim Hortons Locations

Course: Web Development IV (3rd Year)
Team Members: Rosemary Canon, Caelan Whitter & Jessie Rambeloson

One of the challenges we faced was cleaning the data from the dataset we used. There were a lot of inconsistencies in the dataset so we had to work around them when extracting the data.

We figured using a Tim Hortons dataset since it’s a Canadian staple!
