However, please note that from one year to the next, the dates may change. You will know that you have finalized your registration once you see your confirmation number.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"how-much-are-my-fees-and-how-can-i-pay-them\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>How much are my fees and how can I pay them?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>The amount\u00a0owed depends on the number of course hours (see the course description), the number of courses, and your status (Quebec resident or not, in a program or not). Your fees will be indicated when you finalize your registration and you are encouraged to pay your fees immediately. If you do not choose this option you will receive a statement of fees payable upon receipt. For further details regarding fees, please refer to the Continuing Education timetable or go to: <a href=\"\/finance\/student-fees\/\" target=\"_Blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Fees<\/a><br \/>\nPlease note that the fees do not include textbooks and\/or materials and these can cost in the area of $100 or more per course.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"how-much-time-do-i-have-to-pay-my-fees\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>How much time do I have to pay my fees?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>Fees must be paid in full upon registration.\u00a0 Students who do not pay their fees will have their<strong> course registration cancelled and will remain liable for nonrefundable fees.\u00a0 Access to Omnivox services and waitlists will be blocked.\u00a0 <\/strong>If a student registration is cancelled for nonpayment of fees,<strong> the student must reapply in order to return in a subsequent semester.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"registration-procedure\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>Registration Procedure<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>The Ministry of Education requires that courses offered by CEGEPs enable students to follow a specific and well-defined academic path. New Continuing Education Students must apply online and be admitted prior to registration in order to receive a student ID and an Omnivox password. Returning Continuing Education Students last registered in Fall 2025 can register through the Internet Registration system without completing a new application form online.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"what-is-a-permanent-code\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>What is a permanent code?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>The <strong>Quebec Permanent Code<\/strong> is a government ID number created by the <strong>Quebec Ministry of Education<\/strong>. It is a unique identifying code assigned by the Ministry to all students who attend an educational institution in <strong>Quebec<\/strong> regardless of where they come from and regardless of their residency status.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"how-do-i-create-a-temporary-permanent-code\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>How do I create a temporary permanent code?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>In order to access the registration system you will need your\u00a0\u00a0 Dawson ID number and your Permanent Code. If you have not studied in a Quebec high school or CEGEP, you will not yet have a Permanent Code. You can use the following as a &#8220;temporary&#8221; Permanent Code: Enter the first three letters of your last name, the first letter of your first name (as it appears on your Birth Certificate) and your birthday (day\/month\/year). <strong>For students born in the year 2000 or later make sure to add 62 to the day of birth and add 25 to their birth month. Women born prior to 2000 must add 50 to their birth month.<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>John Smith 09-05-1986 = SMIJ090586<\/p>\n<p>Alex Smith 09-05-2000 = SMIA713000<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Joanne Smith 07-09-1990 = SMIJ075990<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Melanie Smith 07-09-2000 = SMIM693400<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"how-many-courses-can-i-register-for\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>How many courses can I register for?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>When registering, please keep in mind that a minimum of one hour of study time is recommended for every hour of class time. As an example, a 75-hour course would require typically five (5) hours of class time and five (5) hours of study time, i.e. a total of 10 hours weekly.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"can-i-register-for-a-course-if-i-completed-the-prerequisite-at-another-school\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>Can I register for a course if I completed the prerequisite at another school?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>If you are unable to register for a course because we do not have a record of the completed prerequisite, please fill out a REGISTRATION HELP FORM found in the MyDawson Portal, under &#8220;Registration and Course Change\/Registration Help Form&#8221;. An operator or advisor will contact you as soon as possible and no later than two working days after your request is submitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Begins Friday, January 9 at 1:30 p.m. and ends Monday, January 19, 2026 at NOON.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to maximize your chances of successfully completing a course, it is essential that you have the proper prerequisite(s).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"what-can-i-do-if-the-course-for-which-i-wish-to-register-is-full\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>What can I do if the course for which I wish to register is full?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>If no seats are available in a given section of a course, try another section, if applicable.<br \/>\nTo be added to a <strong>waiting list <\/strong>please complete the REGISTRATION HELP FORM found in the MyDawson Portal, under &#8220;My College Services\/Continuing Education Registration Help Form&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"can-i-register-for-a-course-ive-already-passed\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>Can I register for a course I've already passed?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>In exceptional circumstances you may be given permission to repeat a course. If you feel you have a valid reason to do so, please fill out a REGISTRATION HELP FORM found in the MyDawson Portal, under &#8220;Registration and Course Change\/Registration Help Form&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"faq-content\"><div class=\"dc_faq\" id=\"can-i-register-for-a-course-in-the-day-division\"><div class=\"dc_faq-title\"><button>Can I register for a course in the day division?<\/button><\/div><div class=\"dc_faq-body\">\n<p>In general, students in Continuing Education may not register for day division courses. In special circumstances (e.g. a required program course is not available in Continuing Education), students in programs can request a day-division course by completing a form. You may request this form by sending an email to conted@dawsoncollege.qc.ca.
