AutoCAD on Win – Beginner
Prerequisite: Drafting background
In this course, students are introduced to AutoCAD’s interface and trained to use their existing drafting skills in the new environment. Constant reference to conventional manual practices highlight the advantages of computer-aided design. Topics include: data entry methods; AutoCAD entities; AutoCAD’s editing commands; display features; inquiry, utility and system variables; understanding layers; using colors and linetypes; creation of variable line widths; cross hatching and pattern filling; AutoCAD’s annotation capabilities; dimensioning and plotting. The course is held in a fully equipped computer lab which enables immediate, hands-on practice.
