Bio: Paula Bigatel (pmb6@psu.edu) is an instructional designer and instructor for World Campus, Faculty Development. She has authored and is an instructor for several faculty development courses in assessing online students, online course design, and effective online teaching. She holds a Doctorate in Education (Instructional Systems) from Penn State University and has taught masters level adult students in various Instructional Systems courses. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Concordia University, Montreal, and a Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from Concordia. Her research interests include competencies for teaching success and student engagement in online learning.
