Indigenous Pedagogies


Members of the Indigenous Pedagogies Community of Practice share a meal and stories in Kahnawake with educator and pedagogical consultant Diane Labelle and Leah Kanerahta’ró:roks Diome, owner of the Purple Dragonfly Trading Post.

Participating faculty from various disciplines share dedicated time to learn together with community teachers and knowledge keepers in the college and on the land. Faculty members will learn to work with Indigenous knowledge keepers to explore Indigenous epistemologies and pedagogy, discuss Indigenous content in the classroom, share best practices for engaging students and colleagues in addressing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and contribute to the growing community across Turtle island committed to decolonizing education.
