students\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Show respect<\/strong>\u00a0for the realities of First Nations and Inuit people regarding education in Qu\u00e9bec (e.g., language, culture, history, pride in their identity, etc.).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support\u00a0<\/strong>the multiple paths and trajectories of First Peoples students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recognize\u00a0<\/strong>the systemic barriers and challenges associated with each of the different levels of education.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Identify\u00a0<\/strong>potential mechanisms to overcome these barriers, determine the roles of different actors (governments, educational institutions, services, etc.), and obtain concrete commitments from these actors to support and guide First Peoples students throughout their education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" all post-secondary institutions in Quebec and across Canada<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It will serve as a springboard to ensure that the ideas discussed at the forum come to fruition, and that they help\u00a0<strong>support Indigenous people in the process of taking charge of education by and for First Peoples<\/strong>, and transforming Qu\u00e9bec and Canadian society.<\/li>\n<li>Our hope is that this event will mark a commitment by the actors involved to\u00a0<strong>take concrete action aimed at overcoming systemic barriers<\/strong>\u00a0to the success of First Peoples
