COVID-19 Policies and Disability Rights: Analysis of the National-Level Policies of 14 Countries in Relation to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability<\/strong><\/p>\n

Persons with disabilities experience heightened risks as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the control and recovery measures that governments have adopted in response. Systemic gaps excluding persons with disabilities on a daily basis have been exposed during the pandemic through the inaccessibility of emergency health communications and responses; disruptions in essential home, social, and health supports; and accumulated barriers in accessing education, employment, transportation, and other basic goods and services. This project aimed to systematically assess whether and to what extent 14 governments from around the world have adopted COVID-19 control and recovery policies that are responsive to the rights of persons with disabilities under international law.<\/p>\n
