Depending on the teacher, lab attendance may count for up to 10% of the final grade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Student ID Card<\/strong>: Upon entering the lab, students will place their Dawson ID card inside a box. After completing the lab session, students will exit through the lab\u2019s control room to retrieve their scanned card.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Attendance<\/strong>: Student lab attendance is recorded by scanning the Dawson ID card; therefore it\u2019s <strong>compulsory to always bring your card to the lab<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Lab Sessions<\/strong>: At the beginning of the semester, during the Intro Talk session, students will choose <strong>one specific lab session (per language) which will be reserved for the whole semester<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Schedule<\/strong>: There are <strong>53<\/strong> different weekly lab sessions from which students can pick a time that fits into their schedule. View the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/language-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/139\/1.Schedule.W2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">lab\u2019s schedule<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Back-to-back Labs<\/strong>: Students taking more than one language course <strong>cannot schedule back-to-back lab sessions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Punctuality<\/strong>: Students <strong>must be on time<\/strong>. The lab door <u>opens 5 minutes before<\/u> any given session and <u>closes 5 minutes after<\/u> the beginning of the session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">*Therefore, if students arrive more than <strong>5 minutes late, they will not be allowed to enter once the lab has started<\/strong> (no exceptions), as not to disturb the session in progress.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Make-up Sessions Guidelines<\/strong>: For reasons such as: tardiness, illness, religious or statutory holidays, medical appointment, etc., <strong>all missed scheduled labs must be completed <\/strong><u>within the same week<\/u>, during one of the following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/language-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/139\/1.Schedule.W2020.pdf\">Make-up sessions<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Make-up Sessions Schedule<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<table class=\"t1 new-table\" style=\"text-align: center\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h6>Monday<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>3:15pm<\/li>\n<li>4:00pm<\/li>\n<li>4:45pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<h6>Tuesday to Thursday<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>8:30am<\/li>\n<li>3:15pm<\/li>\n<li>4:00pm<\/li>\n<li>4:45pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<h6>Friday<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>8:30am<\/li>\n<li>11:30am<\/li>\n<li>12:15pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Books<\/strong>: Students <strong>must<\/strong> <strong>bring their workbook and\/or textbook <\/strong>to the lab. They cannot do the lab <strong>without<\/strong> their own material nor share it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"11\">\n<li><strong style=\"color: #6495ed\">Forbidden<\/strong>: <strong>Food, drinks, surfing, texting, social media<\/strong> and <strong>cell phones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Independent Student Work<\/h2>\n<p>The lab can also be used for independent student work; users must abide by the lab\u2019s schedule &amp; rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NB<\/strong>: Space priority will be given to students with mandatory lab attendance requirements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Dawson\u2019s Language Lab!
