News from the Research Office

If you are anything like us at the Research Office, you might be wondering what had happened to the semester. It seems like only yesterday that we excitedly opened our doors, welcoming a brand-new year that heralds a brand-new era. But alas! We are at the midpoint, and we have to admit the hard truth that yesterday was an ordinary Tuesday. A lovely Tuesday, but an ordinary one nonetheless.

Regardless of where we are in the term, Dawson’s Research community continues to develop and contribute to the research landscape. Our Researchers are busy exploring creative and innovative ways in creating new knowledges and approaches, and the Research Office is equally busy offering support, developing plans, and clarifying protocols.

I’d like to invite you to take a look at our website, which is being continuously updated with new funding opportunities; reminders and deadlines; information from the granting agencies; relevant articles, and other resources that supports Dawson’s Research Community.

A gentle reminder that if you are interested in applying for a grant to please notify the Research Office at least 3 weeks prior to the Internal Deadline. Also, please note that the Internal Deadline for any grant is 9 full workdays before the official Agency deadline; you should have a submission ready application ready by then. For any deadline, earlier is always better! If you would need help with editing or would like tips on how to craft your application, please either consult our Resources section or drop us an email.

The Research Ethics Board (REB) is current seeking out qualified volunteers to serve as disciplinary members; for more information, please read the details here.
