For the past ten years, Dawson College has made a conscious shift toward peace and non-violence. Curriculum has evolved within this new context, bold new initiatives such as the Peace Centre, Inspire Solutions, Learning Communities, Living Campus, First Peoples Initiative, Sustainable Dawson, Dawson Gardens, Sustainable Campuses, collaborative working spaces (CoLab), Active Learning Classrooms, have taken root, and of course, the magnificent Peace Garden has flourished as a living memorial and testament to the courage and perseverance of the Dawson Community.
