The Government of Canada invests in these researchers and research teams because they are helping to provide the evidence needed to make informed decisions on communities, the economy, Canadians\u2019 health and well-being, Indigenous reconciliation, and Canada\u2019s future prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the Honourable Fran\u00e7ois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, announced more than $175 million to support 809 social sciences and humanities research projects across Canada. This investment, through the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/home-accueil-eng.aspx\">Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council<\/a>\u2019s (SSHRC\u2019s)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/funding-financement\/programs-programmes\/partnership_grants_stage1-subventions_partenariat_etape1-eng.aspx\">Partnership Grants<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/funding-financement\/programs-programmes\/partnership_development_grants-subventions_partenariat_developpement-eng.aspx\">Partnership Development Grants<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/funding-financement\/umbrella_programs-programme_cadre\/insight-savoir-eng.aspx\">Insight Grants<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/funding-financement\/programs-programmes\/scholarly_journals-revues_savantes-eng.aspx\">Aid to Scholarly Journals grants<\/a>, supports research, research partnerships, and knowledge mobilization across a multitude of issues of critical relevance to our society.
