NoteREQUESTING SERVICES and ACCOMMODATIONS – FALL 2022

Registering for the first time – New and Returning students

Students who wish to register and review their eligibility with the Student AccessAbility Centre (SAAC) are encouraged to visit our “Registering for SAAC services” webpage for information and are asked to complete the Online Pre-Intake form as soon as possible.  Once we receive the completed form, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment with a SAAC counsellor.

Deadline: November 16, 2022 – 11:00 p.m. (requests received after this date will be reviewed for Winter 2023)

Requesting Accommodations – Fall 2022

New students:  If you’ve already had your intake appointment (see above), you will need to schedule a new appointment with your counsellor at the start of the semester in order to finalize your accommodations.

Returning students: If you were registered with our service in the past, you will need to request your accommodations online by using the “self registration” module.  If you wish to discuss or modify your accommodations, please schedule an appointment with your counsellor.

Deadline: September 20, 2022 – 5:00 p.m. (requests received after this date may still be considered up to November 16, 2022)

How to register

Students not registered with the Student AccessAbility Centre (SAAC) are required to complete an Online Pre-Intake form.

The medical documentation or psycho-educational assessment attesting to your diagnosis (see document requirements) should be uploaded when completing the Online Pre-Intake form.  If you cannot upload the documents, please send them to aasecretary@dawsoncollege.qc.ca

You will receive a confirmation email shortly after submitting the form and documents and you will be contacted to schedule an appointment with a SAAC Counsellor.

The duration of the appointment will vary according to a student’s particular circumstances, ranging from 30 minutes to 1h30 minutes.  We will advise you when scheduling the appointment.

Students are encouraged to attend the meeting on their own; however, should it be necessary for a parent or guardian to be present they will be invited only at the end. We feel strongly about this being students’ first step towards self-advocacy in College.
