Test / Exam

In-Session Online - Invigilated by your teacher

Teachers have been finding innovative ways to accommodate not only students registered with the SAAC but also all students. Some of examples of how your teachers may accommodate for extended time are:

  • Extend exam submission time for SAAC student only
  • Extend exam submission time for all students
  • Shortened the exam for all Example: Created a 1-hour exam but giving 1.5 hours to complete
  • Will grade only the best answers out of. Example: Best 5 answers out of 7 questions.

Please communicate with your Adapted Services Counsellor if you feel your accommodations are not being met.

In Session Online - Invigilated by the SAAC

Invigilation by the SAAC office will be restricted to courses and sections for which adaptations by teachers were not possible and where teachers cannot themselves provide invigilation for the extended time.  We will be unable to respond to any other invigilation requests. Invigilation by the SAAC office will be online via Zoom.

  • Informing you if they will be using the SAAC invigilation service
  • Creating the exam definition (date, time, duration) in the AccessAbility Online Module
  • Presenting the exams in a Dawson supported platform (Moodle, Léa, Teams, Office forms)
  • Ensuring that the extended time is accurately programmed
  • Informing you of exam instructions
  • Informing you where to retrieve your exam and where to submitted once completed
  • Making themselves available for questions when necessary

SAAC Responsibility:

  • Signing you up for your exam according to your teacher’s request
  • Sending you an email confirmation of sign-up, 4 school days before the exam
  • Providing you with a follow-up email, 1 school day before the exam, with the Zoom link to access the invigilation
  • Providing invigilation for the duration of the exam

Student Responsibility:

  • Informing the SAAC as soon as possible, and no later than 3 school days before your exam, if you need to take your extended time before class because of scheduling constraints
  • Verifying with your teacher exam instructions
  • Verifying with your teacher where to retrieve your exam and where to submit it once completed
  • Maintaining exam integrity and following the college’s Netiquette policies
