Est\u00e1 vivo porque la comunidad de estudiantes y acad\u00e9micos se mantienen en movimiento constante para generar iniciativas, pero tambi\u00e9n por la flora y la fauna que en se encuentran ah\u00ed como objeto de estudio y como acompa\u00f1amiento en el aprendizaje.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1920 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e-480x640.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e-720x960.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/>La bienvenida fue por parte de estudiantes y profesores del Formaci\u00f3n de L\u00edderes Comunitarios de Recreaci\u00f3n (Community Recreation Leadership Training) (CRLT) quienes nos brindaron su espacio y nos dieron desayuno. \u00a0Sarah Carthier de CRLT nos reserv\u00f3 un sitio especialmente para los visitantes mexicanos en la proyecci\u00f3n del documental \u201c78 Days: A Tree Planting Documentary\u201d, (78 d\u00edas: un documental sobre la plantaci\u00f3n de \u00e1rboles) que nos muestra un interesante, bien remunerado, pero tambi\u00e9n extenuante empleo: la reforestaci\u00f3n por temporadas, que en esta ocasi\u00f3n correspondi\u00f3 a \u00a0los bosques de Norte de Alberta, Canad\u00e1. Dirigido por Jason Nardella en el 2011 se muestran las dificultades f\u00edsicas y mentales a las que se enfrentan los plantadores, pero tambi\u00e9n la posibilidad de construir comunidad entre ellos. La charla posterior con el Director y el entusiasmo de los estudiantes por conocer m\u00e1s sobre el documental produjo un sentimiento de esperanza porque hay distintos esfuerzos para cuidar el planeta.<\/p>\n<p>Posteriormente el Eco Museo visit\u00f3 al College, \u00a0admiramos la belleza de aves vivas y pudimos conocer sobre sus caracter\u00edsticas y \u00a0formas de vida. Los cuestionamientos de los asistentes, entre ellos Chris Adam, permit\u00edan profundizar \u00a0en el tema y me hac\u00eda pensar en lo significativo que puede ser aprender de esta manera.<\/p>\n<p>Luego vino el turno de la flora: \u00a0en una sala que se caracteriza por un muro verde y se respira la paz y cordialidad, pudimos tener la presentaci\u00f3n sobre plantas medicinales desde dos perspectivas distintas: la Profesora Laura Hern\u00e1ndez de la Preparatoria Comunitaria de Tres Mar\u00edas en Morelos M\u00e9xico, plante\u00f3 c\u00f3mo a trav\u00e9s de entrevistas los j\u00f3venes \u00a0van profundizando en el estudio de este t\u00f3pico y realizan proyectos como la plantaci\u00f3n en terrazas y la elaboraci\u00f3n de un botiqu\u00edn. Por su parte Gary Beauvais traj\u00f3 diferentes especies de plantas que cultiva de manera voluntaria en un\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1916 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"380\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-1920x1440.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 380px) 100vw, 380px\" \/>vivero dentro de una escuela primaria en Kahnwa:ke, comunidad indigena cerca de Montreal, Canad\u00e1. Ambos proyectos se basan en el rescate de los saberes ancestrales y la transmisi\u00f3n de ellos a las futuras generaciones, nos hizo reflexionar sobre los tres ejes de la sustentabilidad: lo ambiental, lo econ\u00f3mico y lo social, pues se argumentaba sobre la importancia del uso de las plantas para prevenir y combatir enfermedades de manera econ\u00f3mica, incluso desde una manera integral como la aromaterapia para atender las emociones \u00a0y resistir al negocio de las empresas farmac\u00e9uticas. Tambi\u00e9n se abord\u00f3 sobre la preservaci\u00f3n de las semillas desde la propia cosmovisi\u00f3n de las comunidades originarias y como una lucha contra los transg\u00e9nicos.<\/p>\n<p>Durante una comida hind\u00fa, dos estudiantes egresadas del Dawson que han realizado intercambio estudiantil en Morelos vinieron a acompa\u00f1arnos, lo que muestra el impacto que ha tenido en ellas el Proyecto de Planteles Educativos Sustentables \u00a0y su apertura a estrechar lazos de afectividad, m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de lo acad\u00e9mico.<\/p>\n<p>Durante este d\u00eda hemos escuchado una variedad de voces: franc\u00e9s, ingl\u00e9s, espa\u00f1ol, hemos degustado sabores distintos, compartido saberes entre diferentes culturas y reflexionado sobre la importancia de generar acciones de vida buena para todos. Lo que muestra una relaci\u00f3n estrecha entre interculturalidad y sustentabilidad. Today, on the second day of the forum we had the opportunity to testify to this. It is alive because the community of students and academics are in constant movement to generate initiatives, but also because of the flora and fauna that are there as objects of study and accompaniment in learning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1920 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e-480x640.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/e-720x960.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/>We were welcomed by the students and teachers of the Community Recreation Leadership Training (CRLT) who offered us their space and gave us breakfast. Sarah Carthier of CRLT reserved spaces especially for the Mexican visitors in the screening of the documentary &#8220;78 Days: A Tree Planting Documentary&#8221;, (78 days: a documentary about tree planting) that shows us an interesting, well paid, but also strenuous job: seasonal reforestation, which on this occasion corresponded to the forests of Northern Alberta, Canada. Directed by Jason Nardella in 2011, the physical and mental difficulties faced by the planters are shown, but also the possibility of building community among each other. The subsequent discussion with the Director and the enthusiasm of the students to learn more about the documentary produced a feeling of hope because there are different efforts to take care of the planet.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, the Eco-Museum visited the College, we admired the beauty of live birds and we were able to learn about their characteristics and ways of life. The questions of those present, among them Chris Adam, allowed to deepen in the subject and it made me think about the significance of learning \u00a0in this way.<\/p>\n<p>Then came the turn of the flora: in a room that is characterized by a green wall and breathes peace and cordiality, we had a \u00a0presentation on medicinal plants from two different perspectives: Professor Laura Hern\u00e1ndez of the Community High School of Tres Mar\u00edas in Morelos Mexico, told us \u00a0how through interviews young people in Tres Marias have gone deeper\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1916 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"380\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/sustainable-campuses\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/148\/a-1920x1440.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 380px) 100vw, 380px\" \/>into the study of this topic and carried out projects such as terraced planting and the development of a first aid kit. Gary Beauvais brought different plant species that he grows voluntarily in a nursery inside a primary school in Kahnwa:ke, an indigenous community near Montreal, Canada. Both projects are based on the rescue of ancestral knowledge and the transmission of them to future generations. It made us reflect on the three axes of sustainability: the environmental, the economic and the social, as it was argued about the importance of the use of the plants to prevent and fight diseases economically, even from a holistic way such as aromatherapy to address the emotions and resist the business of pharmaceutical companies. It also addressed the preservation of seeds from the \u00a0worldview of the indigenous communities and as a fight against transgenics.<\/p>\n<p>During an indian meal, two students who \u00a0graduated from the Dawson who had done their internships in Morelos came to join us, which shows the impact that the Sustainable Campuses Initiative has had on them and their opening to strengthen ties of affectivity, beyond the academic.<\/p>\n<p>During this day we listened to a variety of voices: French, English, Spanish, we \u00a0tasted different tastes, shared knowledge between different cultures and reflected on the importance of generating wellbeing \u00a0for all which shows a close relationship between interculturality and sustainability.
