Dawson’s Physical Education courses are part of the core courses in general education, which all students are required to take. The overall theme of the Physical Education program at the collegial level is the development of a healthy and active lifestyle. Successful students will achieve the following specific competency-based objectives (as identified in respective course outlines):

101 MQ 102 MQ 103 MQ

Opportunities are provided for students to meet program goals in a variety of curriculum areas and learning environments. Courses are offered in the following curriculum areas: Dance, Combatives, Individual Sports, Team Sports, Fitness Activities, Outdoor Education, and Stress Management.

Students must successfully complete three Physical Education courses to graduate. Courses are divided into three types (as outlined above) and students must choose one course from each type. A 101MQ and a 102MQ must be successfully completed before registering for the 103MQ course. Students may choose either the 101MQ or the 102MQ as their first Physical Education course.
