Three Dawson faculty recently completed their Master of Education in College Teaching through the Performa program at the Université de Sherbrooke.

Vincenza (Enza) Pascale, Biomedical Laboratory Technology, with her final paper entitled “The Effect of Problem-Based Learning and Guided Reading on Students’ Learning Outcomes.”

Caroline Haddad, Physical Education, with her final paper entitled “The Impact of Immediate Versus Delayed Feedback in a Yoga Skills Course.”

Vanessa Gangai, Physiotherapy Technology, with her paper “Developing Competence in Health Advocacy Among Physiotherapy Technology Students Through Service Learning.”

Performa is a university-level program based on a partnership between the Université de Sherbrooke and the college network. Courses are taught by CEGEP teachers and professionals for CEGEP teachers and professionals to develop professional competencies in teaching and education methods at the college level. In the last 10 years, 17 Dawson participants have completed their M.Ed., entire departments have undertaken training in instructional strategies and over 60 Dawson employees have registered in courses since digital record-keeping began in 2013.
