Inclusion and Wellness Retreat

Are you a teacher reflecting on your semester and wondering how you can make your teaching and classroom environment more responsive to a wider variety of student needs next term? Are you a professional who works with students or faculty, and you would like to better understand or apply principles of universal design in your work? Upscaling UDL@Dawson is hosting its fourth all-inclusive two-day retreat and will address this question!
Participants will dive into the UDL design-cycle in a 4-part workshop series spread over two days:
-
-
-
- Understanding learner variability and student contexts
- Identifying potential barriers to learning in our course design and class environments
- Ideating solutions with the help of colleagues and the UDL guidelines
- Creating an action plan
-
-
In between workshopping with your colleagues, you will have opportunities to rest, rejuvenate, and participate in wellness activities such as yoga, hiking, paddle-boarding, or pickle ball at the beautiful Far Hills site. Enjoy a delicious meal while getting to know colleagues around the campfire or at a games night in the evening!
