Dawson College Bookstore – Final Holiday Sale

From December 1 to December 22, the Bookstore is holding its final Holiday Sale with discounts up to 50% off. Everything must go, including books, office supplies, art supplies, Dawson merchandise, medical scrubs, and more.

New Procedure

Starting in January, students will be able to order and purchase books and course materials for the Winter 2026 semester online. This link will take you to the Concordia bookstore (Book Stop) online platform to order your course materials.

  • 24/7 online access with no constraints of opening hours or long wait times in line

  • Price Match Program that ensures the lowest possible price

You can also shop for your books and course materials in January in person at the Concordia bookstore (BookStop) downtown (Guy-Concordia Metro).

Buying Books and Course Materials

Your teacher will provide a list of books on Omnivox.

Books can be purchased online new or used, or even rent them in some cases, by accessing the link here to the supplier, Follett.

You can also go to the Concordia bookstore (Book Stop, 1400 de Maisonneuve West, Guy-Concordia Metro) where the course materials will be available in a special section of the store clearly marked for Dawson students.

No. Course materials ordered and purchased online can be picked up at Concordia’s bookstore (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia Metro) or Loyola bookstore (7141 Sherbrooke Street West) or delivered directly to your home.

You can also go to the Concordia Bookstore (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia metro downtown) where the course materials will be available to buy directly in person.

Used books are identified on the Concordia bookstore (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia Metro) shelves in the Dawson section with an orange Used sticker on the spine and shown as a Used option on the website.

Not all books can be rented. Those that cannot be rented are:

  • Books that are part of a bundle (two or more books packaged together, physical books with online access codes, etc.) since they contain multiple components.
  • Workbooks have sections to fill out.
  • Course packs are not rentable.

Most other books are rentable either New or Used. The display on the screen will show if the book you want to order can be rented.

At the Concordia bookstore (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia Metro) you can pay with Interac, Visa, Mastercard and Amex, Book Stop gift cards and cash. Online payment is with Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Book Stop gift cards.

Shipping, Pickup, and Returns

Yes. When placing an online order, you can choose to pick up in store for free from either the Concordia bookstore’s downtown location (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia metro) or at the Loyola campus (7141 Sherbrooke Street West).

Shipping is offered through Purolator for a flat rate regardless of how many items you have ordered. If you choose to have your order shipped, it may arrive in multiple shipments, but you will only be charged the shipping fee once.

Returns/Exchanges vary at different times in the semester.

The following items are always final sale, no returns or exchanges:

  • Course packs
  • Electronics
  • Calculators
  • Course materials that were shrink wrapped and were opened
  • PPE
  • Scrubs/lab coats
  • Access cards for e-books that have been opened

Returns/Exchanges also vary with in-store purchases vs online purchases:

Purchased in store

You have until seven days after the first drop deadline to return your books in the original condition that they were bought with their receipt (new books must not have been opened).

During exam periods, books are final sale.

Purchased Online

Books can be returned before the first drop deadline either in person or by mail. Shipping is not refundable, and you must pay the return shipping costs.

Books purchased after the first drop deadline must be returned within seven business days of purchase for a full refund.

Books purchased during the last week of classes or final exams are not refundable.

Most course materials are available on or before the first day of classes. If a title isn’t available on the first day of your class, you will be able to pre-order a copy in person at the Concordia bookstore (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia Metro) or back order a copy online.

Once the book arrives from the publisher, students who pre-ordered and back ordered will receive their books first before the rest go on the shelf.

Digital Materials

When an eBook is purchased, you will receive a link by email and an access code. You will use the link provided to reach the provider and input your access code. The book will be downloaded to your account, and you can access it from your “bookshelf”.

You will see an eBook option when you are shopping. If there is no eBook, it may mean it is not available in this format, or your teacher has indicated an eBook cannot be used.

You will see the Digital option on the website when you are shopping.

If you are having trouble accessing your content, the easiest way to troubleshoot is to go to the Concordia bookstore (Book Stop, Guy-Concordia Metro) so staff there can help you directly on your own device by showing you step-by-step instructions, so you have the information for the next time.
