Dawson Celebrates Engineering

On May 10th, the graduating students in Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Technologies celebrated their professions at a Gala evening hosted by the Dean of Science, Medical Studies & Engineering.

Students were presented with their Dawson Engineering Technologies rings, symbols of their academic success and their responsibility to uphold the highest standards in their professions upon graduating.

The first of what is expected to become an annual event was attended by over 80 students, faculty members and administrators. Congratulations Engineering Technologies Class of 2012!

Two of Dawson’s faculty members awarded
Students are not the only ones being recognized for their hard work; some of our faculty members are also being honoured. Elizabeth Charles received an award from the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) for being one of the best in college teaching excellence and peer mentoring.

Chris Whittaker won the teaching award from the Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale (AQPC). A number of Dawson College faculty and staff members will be speaking at the AQPC’s 3-day conference in June.
