Are you a student currently registered in another college?

If you are a student currently registered in a DEC program or in Springboard to a DCS at another college, you may be able to register for up to two courses at Dawson this summer, if your college grants you permission to do so. This official permission from your college is called a commandite.

Dawson will only accept commandites through the SRACQ Commandite virtuelle system, which your advisor has access to, in order to send us your information.

We will begin processing commandite requests as of Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

The deadline for Summer School commandite requests is Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Step 1: To prepare for Summer School at Dawson, your home college must follow all seven mandatory items below using the Commandite virtuelle system :

  1. Fill in all of your correct contact information.
  2. Identify which one or two courses that you are being permitted to take. Two courses maximum.
  3. The priority of your commandite:
    • Priority A or Fin de programme: means the course(s) that you wish to take at Dawson this summer will allow you to graduate with your DEC in Summer 2023.
    • Priority B: that you need this course to advance in your regular DEC program in Fall, because of standing and advancement rules at your College.
    • Non-priority: You are requesting a course to advance in your regular DEC program, but you are not graduating and you are in good standing.
  4. If you are a Priority A student, the commandite information must include which section you wish to take. For example, 201-NYC-05 section 19002.  Please refer to the Summer 2023 Timetable button above to find correct course and section numbers.
  5. Your email address. If we do not have your correct email address, you will not receive your Omnivox access time, nor your appointment time to register since commandite appointments will be sent by email only. If the email address is incorrect, you could miss your chance to register.
  6. Your advisor must extend the commandite permission to expire on August 31, 2023 so that, after both Summer School and Rattrapage registration/course drop deadlines have passed, we may respond to your college through the system. All responses from Dawson will be sent by mid August.
  7. IMPORTANT –  Commandite students may only register for the courses approved by their home college and accepted by Dawson, prior to registration. Commandite students may only register for in-program courses (hors programme – HP – courses will be refused).

Step 2. Once your commandite is accepted, you must create your MyDawson Portal (Omnivox) account to be ready to go pay your course fees.

For Priority A students: Once your commandite has been processed by Dawson College, you will receive an email detailing the steps necessary to create your MyDawson Portal (Omnivox account) and asking you to go finalize your registration and pay your student fees. From 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2 to noon on Tuesday, June 6, you will be able to finalize and pay your fees.  Your exact Omnivox appointment time will be available on your MyDawson portal on May 30, 2023.

For Priority B students and Non-Priority students: You will have to select a section and finalize on your own (space permitting). An email will be sent to you, telling you when and how to register online. From 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 5 to noon on Tuesday, June 6, you will be able to finalize and pay your fees.  Your exact Omnivox appointment time will be available on your MyDawson portal on May 30, 2023.

Even Fin de programme commandite students must pay the $2 per course-hour tuition fee upon registration. Such students may be entitled to a refund towards the end of October 2023, subject to a final confirmation of their status by their home college. Please note that no refunds are granted to commandite students from private colleges.
