This award means more to me than I can easily put into words. I came to Canada as a refugee, navigating a new language, a new system, and a future that wasn’t guaranteed. Dawson gave me the space to grow into someone I’m proud of, a writer, a student advocate, and someone who believes deeply in the power of community. Receiving this scholarship is a reminder that the people around me have noticed that journey, and that feels like an enormous gift. I carry it with me as I head to university this fall, with gratitude and a commitment to keep giving back.
