I’m so beyond grateful for this award. It’s a recognition of my academic achievements, but it also celebrates the entirety of my Dawson experience—the work ethic I’ve developed, the passions I’ve discovered, the confidence I’ve acquired, and the wonderfully supportive community that I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of.

Presented to the student who achieves the highest overall average upon graduation from a diploma-level, post-secondary program. The Governor General’s Academic Medal was first awarded in 1873 by the Earl of Dufferin, and has since become one of the most prestigious awards that a student in a Canadian educational institution can receive.
