I have always been a dedicated student who invests a great deal of time, effort, and care into both my learning and my nursing practice. I consistently advocate for my patients and demonstrate empathy toward their situations, values that my Dawson internship reinforced as essential to the profession. Receiving this award recognizes my strengths as a nurse, and it is incredibly meaningful. It affirms the kind of nurse I am becoming and motivates me to continue growing on this path.

Awarded to a student who, during clinical performance, has demonstrated a high degree of empathy, compassion and a gentle bedside manner. This award was established in October 2018 in loving memory of Jennifer Manitt, a palliative care nurse.
