Being chosen to receive this award is not only an incredible honour, but also confirmation and proof to myself that I am exactly where I need to be. I will continue to fight for the platforming of Indigenous voices, for Indigenous youth to feel like they matter just as much as non-Indigenous youth in all spaces, and for Indigenous self-determination throughout my professional career and personal life. This award and your generosity are making that fight possible and achievable.
