Valérie Nadeau

I am truly honoured to receive the Emerging Designer Award. As a returning student changing careers and having never been a straight-A student before, I never expected to find myself at the top of my class. This award feels especially meaningful as it confirms that I am right where I should be. I am very grateful to the teachers who supported me, helped me develop my projects, and encouraged my growth throughout the year. I worked extremely hard this year and put everything I had into my work. This award reminds me that while talent plays a role, dedication and hard work are what truly allow you to grow. I am also very grateful for the financial support that comes with this award. As a returning student, it is extremely helpful and does not go unnoticed. It makes this recognition feel even more supportive as I continue my studies.
