Winning this award means much more to me than the monetary value. This is a chance for me to be seen and appreciated for all of the long hours I have put into my studies. As an older student, I was not confident in my ability to pursue a higher education. I feared that I would fall behind or be unable to complete my work. However, I proved myself wrong (thankfully!) and persevered, and I will be completing my first semester (of many) on December 9!
