Entering the nursing program was not without its challenges. I began my studies in a different program before finding the courage to pursue the path I had always wanted. I grew up seeing what difference a good nurse could make when I was younger and felt it should be my role to become one someday. I believe that a hospital cannot run without its nurses, they are at the heart of every patient’s care. I am someone who loves to stay busy, give back through volunteering, and do hands-on work and nursing is exactly where those values come to life. This award is a reminder that my hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed, and it encourages me to keep going, finish my degree, and continue growing as a nurse.
