1. CONTEXT

Within the frame of an agreement with the New Frontiers in Research Fund, the Fonds de Recherche du Québec (Society and Culture, Health, Nature and Technologies) are willing to support researchers based in Quebec, to join research teams funded under the European platform 2020 Horizon.

The NFRF and the FRQ encourage interested Canadian researchers to work directly with research teams from EU member states on 34 specifically targeted calls eligible for 2020 Horizon Global Platform.

For further details about the H2020 call itself, visit the European Commission’s Research & Innovation Participant Portal  (English version).

The FRQ contribution will support university researchers meeting the conditions of status 1, as defined by the CGR  AND receiving a grant from the NFRF on this 2020 Horizon targeted calls.

The FRQ will make one- to four-year awards valued at $25,000 (co-investigator) to $50,000 (principal investigator), available to researchers. The maximum duration of the project is four years. FRQ grants are subject to the availability of funds. Indirect research costs are included.

NFRF – 2020 Horizon Global Platform grants are valued up to $125,000 per year (including indirect costs) for a maximum of four years.  NFRF supports eligible Canadian researchers’ participation in international projects on 2020 Horizon Global Platform.
