MONTREAL FORUM EVACUATION PLAN – KEY POINTS
- The evacuation of the Dawson premises within the Montreal Forum is supported by Montreal Forum emergency management staff, who will provide directives and information as required.
- Teachers holding classes at the Montreal Forum are to act as monitors and searchers, and must do the following:
- When the fire alarm sounds, stop what you are doing and immediately direct students to the nearest exit. Make sure the classroom is empty before leaving.
- Make sure no one is left in the hallway.
- Notify Montreal Forum officials or Security onsite of any person in a wheelchair. There may be more than one person who needs assistance.
- Take the stairs down to the ground floor exiting onto Sainte-Catherine or Atwater. Return to the College’s main building to await further instructions.
- Evacuations of the main building of Dawson College and the premises at the Montreal Forum are independent of each other.
- If there is an emergency requiring evacuation of Dawson College’s main building, there is no evacuation at the Montreal Forum.
- Inversely, if there is an emergency requiring the evacuation of the Montreal Forum classrooms, there is no evacuation of Dawson College’s main building.
