Overall Goals:

1. Help students to get by in Japanese in familiar daily situations by immersing them in interesting aspects of the cultural and social life of the Japanese-speaking world that can be contrasted with the students’ own culture.
2. Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through various communicative activities focusing on travel, culture, customs, and socializing.

Intended Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Use the vocabulary, grammatical structures and linguistic functions necessary to communicate accurately and fluently in a variety of contexts.
