Educators as Designers: A Practice-Research conversation
In recent years, it has become increasingly evident that bringing together the many aspects of evidence-based instruction is very much a design process. Educators as designers emphasize this new role for instructors when they implement student-centred approaches, grounded in socio-cultural views of learning. The theme of this year’s conference further extends this perspective by pointing out that in order to design for such pedagogies requires new types of specialized knowledge of how to implement and operationalize the theory. Conversation, as an expansive activity, opens up spaces for the voices of practitioners and researchers to be heard in equitable ways and offers opportunities for new forms of participation and design partnerships.
We are looking forward to seeing you on June 12 & 13!
