First Nations Voices of Disability: Qualitative research as a tool for understanding an emerging Indigenized model of disability

Applied Community Based Participatory Research with a Phenomenological foundation was used to facilitate the articulation of Indigenous knowledge and move toward an Indigenized model of disability. The goal of this webinar is to share the way that these two research approaches guided our process to create an applied deliverable to raise awareness of First Nations communities across Quebec, of the realities, needs, and facilitators for people living with disabilities.

Presenters:

Shannahn McInnis – CRISPESH
Amanda Shawayahamish – CRISPESH
Rose-Anne Gosselin –  FIRST NATIONS HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF QUEBEC
