Prerequisite: Know Pinyin system and some basic sentences (30 hours of previous instruction or equivalent)

Methodolgy:
1. Review Chinese phonetic system: PIN YIN
2. Continue the studies of basic grammar:
• Simple sentences with an adjective predicate
• Adverbs of degree
• Particle “le”
• Positive-negative questions
• Adverbials of time and location
3. Introduce character radicals
4. Vocabulary applied to the following:
• Describing simple work and study situations
• Describing family and friends
• Neighborhood
• The expression of directions

Required Material:
• Headphones and an external microphone
• High speed stable internet connection
• Access to a computer with a minimum of Windows 7 or Mac G5
• Book: (when ordering textbooks online at amazon.ca, make sure they are delivered before the class)
