French as a Second Language – Conversation Workshop – Advanced (Online)
Prerequisite:
Students who wish to take the course must be able to affirm:
- I understand almost all the general ideas of a movie or a TV or radio show but the details escape me.
- I can discuss most topics but lack the words to express more complex ideas in a clear and precise manner.
- I have a good knowledge of grammatical structures and conjugation, but I feel I need to apply all the knowledge I have learned so far to be able to express myself in a more natural and fluent way.
Overall Goals:
- This workshop is intended for advanced students who wish to improve their comprehension of the French language, their oral expression and who wish to enrich their vocabulary.
- Plenary discussions or small group activities will allow students to practise the French language. Oral production is maximized. Special attention is given to the enrichment of vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
- Subjects and themes will be proposed to students. Some topics may be added, according to the interests of the participants. Among the ideas proposed: current events, travel issues, Quebec, telephone communication, etc. At the advanced level, students will also be able to continue practising some of the subtleties of the French language in order to explain and nuance their points of view on various subjects.
Intended Learning Outcome:
- Organize an event and accept or decline an invitation.
- Exchange and inform you on various subjects.
- Understand and leave messages and take notes from messages.
