Eco Printmaking

Prerequisites or Prior Knowledge None – Open to all levels

This course will introduce you to techniques in monotype and intaglio printmaking. We will start with watercolor monotypes, one-of-a-kind prints you can make anywhere and print without a press. You can then combine these prints with traditional stamping methods using modelling dough and stamp ink to add texture and contrast.

In weeks 3-5, we will work on an intaglio process using recycled Tetra Pak packaging from discarded oat/soy/almond milk containers. For this process, you will have access to a mini portable printing press. Still, you can also print at home using a pasta maker, making both techniques accessible for continued exploration after the sessions.
