During drop-in times, ASC staff provide quick help in these 15-20 minute appointments.

  • Monday-Friday 1:00pm-3:00pm
  • Monday-Thursday 5:00pm-6:00pm

ASC staff help with study skills, time management, essay writing, and English language skills. 


Peer tutors are students who help with material for specific courses (math, science, social sciences, career programs, etc.).

Motivation and Attention Workshops

The Academic Skills Centre is offering 50 minute workshops on attention and motivation.

We will explore some of the challenges you face in terms of your academic motivation and attention, as well as the added challenges of studying in an online setting. You will examine the myths you may hold about motivation and attention. You will develop strategies for increasing both your academic motivation as well as expanding focus and attention during study sessions.

Session 1: Wednesday, November 18  from 3:30-4:30 pm 

Session 2: Thursday, November 19  from 9-10 am 

Session 3: Monday, November 23  from 1-2 pm 

Session 4: Wednesday, November 25 from 3:30-4:30 pm 

Session 5: Thursday, November 26  from 9-10 am   

Session 6: Friday, November 27  from 9:30-10:30 am 

Session 7: Friday, November 27  from 3-4 pm

Academic Skills Centre Services

College students often need a little help with their studies. The role of Dawson’s Academic Skills Centre is to help students improve their learning, reading and writing skills. Students can meet with professionals and peer tutors on an individual basis or in small groups.

Online appointments: Log in to our online scheduling system to see our available times.

In-person appointments: 15-minute, drop-in appointments are available in upstairs in the library (2D.6) for students who are visiting the building for classes.
