Sameer Bhatnagar is new QAPO Coordinator

Sameer Bhatnagar has been appointed the new coordinator of the Quality Assurance and Planning Office (QAPO) effective Jan. 30.

Sameer began teaching in the Physics department at Dawson in 2009. Since 2015, he has also been a member of the Science Program Committee. In addition, he was Coordinator of the Explorations Science pathway, and was a founding member of the Dawson AI initiative in 2019. Through these experiences, he has gained insights into how faculty, programs and departments strive to maintain a culture of ongoing evaluation and the challenges they face in their efforts.

Sameer recently completed his Ph.D. in software engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. His research explored a topic of continuing interest to him, namely how to use information technologies to develop and improve processes for analyzing various college data sources, with the ultimate goal of promoting student success.

The Quality Assurance and Planning Office (QAPO) manages and coordinates the development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of the College’s main quality assurance mechanisms for strategic planning and student success, and provides support for program and teacher evaluation and final examinations.
