On Wednesday, Dec. 10, Heather Bilkes (R.N., B.N.Sc., M.Ed., Nursing faculty, Champlain College) will present and facilitate a World Café event entitled Resilience Teaching. Light refreshments will be served.

How can teachers help students thrive, even when challenges persist?
Join us for an interactive workshop designed to spark meaningful conversation and practical ideas. Together, we’ll explore what resilience looks like in students across different disciplines and identify everyday strategies that help them succeed. Using the World Café method, you’ll connect with colleagues in a dynamic, collaborative setting to share insights and generate approaches that strengthen resilience – drawing on the power of supportive relationships and practical approaches within the classroom.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify what resilience looks like in students within their discipline.
  • Recognize the role of teacher and peer support in building resilience.
  • Generate practical, everyday strategies to foster resilience in the classroom.
