Introducing new Foundation board member Ursula Bunge
Dawson parent Ursula Bunge has joined the Dawson College Foundation Board, bringing her extensive experience and passion for supporting students. With a background rooted in arts and culture, Ursula’s professional journey includes significant roles at the Fondation du Cégep Édouard-Montpetit, the McCord Museum, and Maison St-Gabriel, alongside coaching basketball. Her current role is Coordinator of Partnerships at the Fondation de la Basilique Notre-Dame.
Ursula’s connection to Dawson goes beyond her professional expertise—she is also a parent of a current Dawson student athlete, which gives her a personal insight into the student experience and the challenges they face.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the Université de Montréal and is a specialist in art from the late 19th to early 20th centuries after having completed training with Christie’s Education — affiliated with Christie’s Auction House — in Paris.
Ursula, who graduated from the Cégep de Victoriaville, understands the unique role of CEGEPs in the educational landscape. “Through my experience with student athletes and the foundation, I understand the unique complexities and realities of a CEGEP Foundation,” she said. She described CEGEP as a unique bridge where students simultaneously transition into adulthood.
Her vision for the Dawson College Foundation is clear: to ease students’ paths to graduation by providing essential support. “I understand how important it is to give back,” Ursula remarked. She hopes the Foundation will raise its profile and engage more deeply with alumni, emphasizing the importance of regular stewardship and increased routine giving.
