Open to all students, Le Phylactère is a new French reading and discussion contest celebrating contemporary French-language comics, graphic novels, and zines.

Participants must read six selected works and take part in three discussion sessions:
March 24 · 11:45–12:45, April 14 · 11:45–12:45, May 5 · 11:45–12:45
Debate, discuss, and vote for the Dawson Golden Phylactère Award. Participation counts toward the SPACE Certificate and there will be prizes students can win.

- Monday, Feb. 23 at Conrod’s (2F.4), 10 AM–4 PM and Thursday, Feb. 26 in the Upper Atrium (caf), 10 AM–4 PM: Rowing Team Bake Sale. Support the Rowing Team on their way to the final race in Toronto.
- Tuesday, Feb. 24, 10 AM to 11:45 AMand Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1 PM to 2:45 PM: Indigenous Perspectives Workshop. The session will include a reading and discussion of two chapters, Policies of oppression in the name of “Democracy” and Our strategy for survival. Register HERE.
- Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 5 PM to 8 PM Conrod’s (2F.4): AIDS Now – Film Screenings plus Q & A. A free evening of short films, snacks, a Joe Rose tribute, and a talk about AIDS activism. Films that will be screened include AIDS Epidemic, Voices of Positive Women, Heaven or Montreal, and Il Va Finir par Finir by Cinema l Communications alum Nancy Pettinicchio.
- Thursday, Feb. 26, from 6 PM to 9 PM in 3C.1: Indie Game Playtest hosted by the Independent Video Game Design program, featuring games created during this year’s Global Game Jam. Get your free ticket HERE.

McGill Law application support for CEGEP students
The Black Law Students’ Association (BLSA) at McGill is hosting a one-on-one application review session for CEGEP students interested in applying to McGill Law.
This event offers individualized feedback on personal statements and CVs.
Participants will meet one-on-one with McGill law students who will provide guidance, insight, and constructive feedback to support their application process.

3D Animation and CGI Grads Receive Best Animation Award
Congratulations to 2025 3D Animation & CGI graduates Jessica Ngo and Hoang Hai Luu!
Their collaborative thesis film, Mu, has received the Best Animation Award at the FLIC Film Festival in Polson, Montana.
Created as their final-year project and completed in June 2025, Mu highlights the creative vision, technical excellence, and teamwork nurtured in Dawson’s 3D Animation program. This recognition celebrates their storytelling talent and artistic achievement, an exciting early milestone as they embark on their professional journeys.
