At Dawson College, academic advising a collaborative process between student and advisor designed to help students make responsible educational decisions. Advisers can guide you in setting an educational plan for your studies here at Dawson and beyond. We can provide you with information on graduation requirements, program transfers, college policies and procedures, applying to university and more. We can also help you access college support services. Academic Advising for daytime students is located in 2D.4. Continuing Education Academic Advising is in 2H.1.

Advising Drop-In Times

Please see the Spring 2020 Virtual Campus Webpage for information about how the rest of the semester will unfold. The answers to many questions can be found there.

As plans are still being worked out, please note that advisors are not yet able to answer questions relating to the following:

  • Registration for the fall semester
  • The R Score IMPORTANT: Late Friday, April 17, 2020, we received word of the Ministry’s new plan to not calculate an R Score for students for the Winter 2020 semester (when they had originally stated that an R Score would be calculated for each student but that it would be only used if it worked in the student’s favour). We understand that many of you have questions about this new approach, particularly in relation to university admissions. However, we have not yet received information from universities about how they plan to proceed, and are unable to address this topic on chat. Thank you for your understanding.

Information will be posted on the Dawson website as it becomes available.
