Maximize your Study Break, March 16-20

This week belongs to you. Recharge and get on top of your school work! Here are some tips to make the most of your week:

  • Happiness Rx: Write yourself a “prescription” for joy: it could include things like friend meetups, dancing, watching a movie or visiting a museum to reduce stress and lift serotonin. Did you know: People aged 25 and under can visit the permanent collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for FREE on any day it is open.
  • Study smart: Try the Pomodoro method: spend 25 minutes studying/doing school work (focused and phone-free) and then reward yourself with a 5-10 minute break (stretch/snack). Dawson’s Learning Centre can help you study better and manage your time. The team can also provide personalized support for whatever academic challenges you face. The Learning Centre is open during Study Break.
  • Move more: Take a neighbourhood walk. Challenge yourself to do 10,000 steps in a day. Do gentle stretching or make your own bodyweight workout following free YouTube videos.

Student work on display at the Gallery

Over 650 students have created art as part of the workshop series “What is Art For?”. Since week two, their work has been on display under the curatorial guidance of Faculty member Jacob Le Gallais. Now, a final presentation featuring over 60 thought-provoking student artworks is on display and will remain up until next week. Check it out at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery (2G.0) near the De Maisonneuve entrance on the second floor.
