Dawson Talent Takes Center Stage:

Award-winning student play comes to life!

poster advertising the play Ars Moriendi
POSTER: ALICE LECLERC @champoint_ on Instagram

The play Ars Moriendi was written by Dawson student Alejandra Belén Quintanilla-Ponce for the Dawson Humanities Conference, where it won first place. Alejandra, a Liberal Arts student, is now directing the production with classmate Maya Pan-Miller, and the cast, crew and poster designer are Dawson students too.

Curious? Here's a quick snapshot:
Set in 1947, upon the death of their patriarch, the twelve members of the Moriendi family receive two letters: one white and one black. They are instructed to open the white letter first, and do what it says before opening the second one, or they'll be ashamed of themselves.

Showtimes are May 11 and 12 at 7:30 PM at the MainLine Theatre (3997 Saint-Laurent Blvd, Montreal QC H2W 1Y4).

For more information, follow them on Instagram @ars_moriendi_play.

Come support your peers and check out the amazing work they've created!

The highly successful 2025 edition of Artists in Bloom took place on Apr. 17 right here on campus! Friends and family, faculty and staff, and members of the public came out to see Dawson students paint, in real time, works of art that were auctioned off at the end of the evening. More than $11,000 was raised by these talented student artists, with proceeds going toward the Dawson College Mental Health Fund and the students' own vernissages.
