Celebrating Dawson’s permanent art collection
The Warren G. Flowers Gallery (2G.0 near the De Maisonneuve Blvd. West entrance to Dawson) invites the Dawson College community to celebrate the college’s permanent art collection through an upcoming exhibition that features artworks created by Dawson students between 1993 and 2026.
The exhibit opens Wednesday, Oct. 7 and runs until Nov. 16; more info here.

Funding opportunity for students to try research
The Bourses d’initiation à la recherche au collégial (BIRC) program offers college students the opportunity to gain their first research experience while receiving a scholarship. Funding is still available, but the program will close once the maximum number of funded participants has been reached.

Indigenous Perspectives series continues in October
Three different lectures will be offered in October on the following topics: Christopher Columbus and the Doctrine of Discovery; 1990 Oka Crisis Documentary Series and Discussion; and The Myth of the Bering Strait Theory.
The presenter is Tiio Hemlock, Pedagogical Counsellor of Indigenous Pedagogy in Dawson's Office of Academic Development.

Free access to Arts.Film until Dec. 31
Arts.Film is run by the International Festival of Films on Art (le FIFA) here in Montreal. This digital streaming platform focuses exclusively on art films. You can browse more than 600 titles on a variety of art disciplines such as architecture, sculpture, fashion, street art, dance, painting, and many more. This is truly a beautiful collection of films and documentaries.
The Dawson Library currently has a free trial until Dec. 31.

CC4C continues to inspire critical hope and creative change
As Dawson’s Creative Collective for Change (CC4C) enters its fifth academic year, the unique para-academic, interdisciplinary initiative continues to bring students, alumni, faculty, artists, and community members together to explore social issues and positive change through art, pedagogy, and nonviolent activism.

Dawson math teacher Mathilde Hitier earns top Quebec honour in mathematics education
Dawson Mathematics teacher Mathilde Hitier is this year's recipient of the Dieter-Lunkenbein Prize, a provincial award recognizing the top doctoral thesis in mathematics education in Quebec.
